Punjab E-Bike Scheme Installment Plan 2026: Current Terms
The latest Phase 2 payment structure differs from some earlier 2026 announcements.
| Payment Detail | Current Reported Phase 2 Position |
|---|---|
| Reported Bike Price | Rs. 199,000 |
| Student Payable Amount | Rs. 109,000 |
| Down Payment | None reported |
| Repayment Period | 36 months |
| Monthly Installment | About Rs. 3,028 |
| Markup / Interest | Covered by Punjab Government |
| Insurance | Covered by Punjab Government |
| Registration | Covered by Punjab Government |
Dividing Rs. 109,000 by 36 months gives approximately Rs. 3,028 per month. The small difference between the calculated total and the reported Rs.109,000 payable amount is due to rounding.
Use the applicable financing schedule for the exact payment amount.
How the Punjab E-Bike Scheme Installment Plan Works
The basic payment structure can be understood as
Government support can reduce the applicant’s financial burden through the applicable subsidy and financing arrangements. Markup support is separate from the amount used to calculate the vehicle principal.
For the current Phase 2 structure, students do not make a separate down payment, while Punjab is reported to cover specified financing-related costs.

Punjab E-Bike Scheme Installment Plan Subsidy and Student Payable Amount
A subsidy reduces the amount the applicant needs to pay or finance under the scheme. It is not necessarily cash paid directly to the student.
Current Phase 2 reporting lists a bike price of Rs. 199,000 and a student payable amount of Rs. 109,000. Punjab is also reported to cover markup, insurance, and registration.
These figures should not be combined with subsidy or installment figures from earlier phases.
Punjab E-Bike Down Payment
The current Phase 2 arrangement does not require a student down payment, according to the latest September 2026 announcement.
Earlier 2026 reports mentioned a Rs.14,000 down payment, but that figure belongs to an earlier payment structure and should not be used for the current Phase 2 calculation.
The phase guide helps identify which period a particular figure belongs to.
Punjab E-Bike Monthly Installment
According to the Punjab E-Bike Scheme installment plan, the monthly installment is currently estimated at around Rs. 3,028 for a 36-month term.
At this rate, 36 payments total approximately Rs.109,008, which is consistent with the reported Rs.109,000 student payable amount after rounding.
The actual amount and payment dates should come from the applicable financing schedule.

The current reported monthly payment is approximately Rs.3,028 for 36 months.
This calculation assumes equal monthly payments. The final financing schedule takes precedence if the agreement includes different payment amounts, rounding adjustments, or other applicable costs.
Punjab E-Bike Scheme Installment Plan Calculation Example
The following example is illustrative only and is not an official scheme quotation.
| Example Input | Amount |
|---|---|
| Bike price | Rs. 240,000 |
| Capital subsidy | Rs. 60,000 |
| Applicant upfront contribution | Rs. 0 |
| Remaining principal | Rs. 180,000 |
| Repayment duration | 36 months |
| Principal-only monthly repayment | Rs. 5,000 |
Calculation:
Rs.180,000 ÷ 36 = Rs.5,000
This example assumes no applicant-paid interest, financed charges, or balloon payment. It is included only to show how an installment calculation works.
Why Older 2026 Installment Figures Are Different
Some earlier 2026 reports mentioned a Rs.70,000 subsidy, a Rs.14,000 down payment, and a Rs.2,100 monthly installment.
Those figures were associated with an earlier payment structure. Later, Phase 2 information reported no student down payment and a monthly payment of around Rs.3,000.
Therefore, do not combine the older Rs.2,100 installment with the current Punjab E-Bike Scheme installment plan Phase 2 terms. Use figures from the same scheme phase when calculating repayment.
The phase guide provides the relevant scheme-period context.
Insurance, Registration and Other Charges
Current Phase 2 reporting says Punjab will cover insurance, markup, and registration.
Before making any payment, check the financing instructions for your application and confirm whether any additional charge applies. The amount, purpose, and payment date should be clear in the applicable agreement.
Financing Requirements and Guarantor
Financing requirements are separate from the scheme’s general eligibility criteria.
Earlier Bank of Punjab terms included specific guarantor and repayment-assessment requirements, but those were published for the earlier scheme period. Do not automatically apply them to the current Phase 2 arrangement.
Check the financing institution’s current requirements for any guarantor, income evidence, or repayment assessment applicable to your application.
What to Check Before Signing the Financing Agreement
Total Repayment & Payment Schedule
Check the financed amount, first payment date, number of installments, and total amount payable.
Insurance & Other Costs
Confirm which costs are covered by Punjab and whether any applicant-paid charges remain under your agreement.
Guarantor & Repayment Assessment
Confirm whether a guarantor is required and which financial documents are accepted for the current financing arrangement.
Can You Repay the E-Bike Financing Early?
Early-settlement terms should be confirmed from the applicable financing agreement.
Before making an early repayment, request the settlement amount and check whether any notice, documentation, or release procedure applies.
The BOP scheme page contains historical financing information, so its earlier settlement terms should not automatically be treated as current Phase 2 conditions.
Which Historical Terms Should You Use?
The BOP scheme is an original 2024 record and should be treated as historical context.
The Phase 1 archive records selected original terms.
For current repayment calculations, use figures belonging to the same Phase 2 announcement and the applicable financing agreement. Do not combine figures from different scheme periods.
